Billie Jean King
Billie Jean King, 89, of Paintsville passed away on October 2, 2018 at Mountain Manor. She was born August 5, 1929 to the late William T. and late Emma P. Scott in Williamson, West Virginia.
Billie Jean graduated from Paintsville High School in 1947 and was a graduate of Morehead State University earning a Master’s Degree in teaching. She was a beloved, retired school teacher with the Paintsville Independent School system. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as choir director for more than 30 years, as well as handbell choir director for 25 years, Sunday School teacher and Director of the Primary Sunday School Department for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Raymond King; brothers Luther and Glenn Scott; sisters Etta Stewart, Grace Thomas, Esta Conley, Mildred Pack and Shirley Preston.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam (Garry) McKenzie of Paintsville, one granddaughter, Heather (Chad) Martin of Pikeville and one grandson, Brandon McKenzie of Fishers, Indiana and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11am at First Baptist Church in Paintsville. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 6pm - 9pm at the Paintsville Funeral Home.
Family has requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Paintsville by contacting the Paintsville Funeral Home.
Susan (Sue) Estep age 71 of Meally, passed away on October 8, 2018 at her home. She was born at Paintsville Kentucky in 1947 to Robert and Frances Burke Murray.
Sue was a long time member of the Southside Freewill Baptist Church and a retired nurse with the Johnson County Health Department.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son Stephen Estep in 2001.
She is survived by her loving husband Harold; one son Robert (Melissa) Estep of Winchester; one grandson Eric Estep of Richmond; a half-brother Paul Michael Thacker of Harlan and a half-sister Beth Ann Burke of Van Lear.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Southside Freewill Baptist Church at 11:00am. Visitation will be at the church from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Tuesday and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Wednesday and on Thursday at 9:00am until time of the service.
Burial will immediately follow the service in the Blanton Branch Cemetery at Pickle Fork.

Beulah Adams Selvage age 84 of Hager Hill passed away on Tuesday October 16, 2018 at her home. She was the widow of J.C. Selvage and was born in Johnson County to Lester and Marsha Fairchild Adams.
Beulah was a retired employee of the Paintsville City School Board of Education where she worked as a Payroll Clerk/Secretary and a member of Tom’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Jamie (Joe) Selvage Meade of Hager Hill; 2 grandchildren Kelley (Tonya Bledsoe) Meade and Jordan Meade .
In addition to her parents and husband, Beulah is preceded in death by a daughter Jean Catherine Selvage; 3 brothers John Adams, Hondel Adams, and Andrew Adams; and 1 sister Evelyn McClure.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday October 19 at 3:00pm at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.
By request of the family contributions can be made to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.

Henry Edward Hannah
Henry Edward Hannah age 84 of Hager Hill passed away on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at his home. He was born in 1934 in Johnson County to Edgar and Mary Alice Merritt Hannah.
He was a member of the Rockhouse Freewill Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, Henry is preceded in death by his wife Florence King Hannah; two sisters Alene Click and Audrey Prater; one grandchild Rickey Butcher Jr.; and one great- grandchild Hunter Bradley Meek. He is survived by one son Terry Anthony (Becky) Caudill Jr. of Johnson County; four daughters Mary Beth (Rick) Reed, Penny Marsillett, Miranda (Adam ) Meek all of Johnson County and Sandra ( John) Butcher-Pack of Austin, Indiana; two brothers Robert Hannah and Wilkie Hannah of Johnson County : and one sister Carmalee Blair of Johnson County.and 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday October 25, 2018 in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm with Jimmy McKenzie and Richard Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the family cemetery at Johnson Branch in Hager Hill. Friends may call at the Paintsville Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of the service.

Reynold Gene (Ronnie) Mayhan
Reynold Gene (Ronnie) Mayhan age 64 of Hager Hill passed away on October 15, 2018 in Ashland, Ky. He was born in 1954 to Challie and Lillian Jayne Mayhan in Paintsville, Ky.
Ronnie was a long time member of Paintsville First Church of God and a loyal servant at the Paintsville First Church of God Food Pantry. He was also a member of the Gearheads Car Club.
He is survived by his loving wife Deborah of Hager Hill; three sons Ronnie Lee (Danielle) Mayhan of West Van Lear, Christopher Brian ( Brook Hall) Ratliff of Hager Hill and Jeffrey Todd (Emily) Ratliff of Paintsville; one daughter Pam Fitch of Meally; and 3 sisters Fran Henderson of Florida, Vicki Mayhan of Tomahawk, and Pam Ramey of Sitka; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by two brothers Challie Ray and Jesse Lee Mayhan; two sisters Bonnie O’Brian and Anna Cole; and one grandchild
Funeral services will be conducted in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday October 18 at noon. Visitation will held on Tuesday October 16 in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00-9:00pm, Wednesday October 17 from 9:00am to 9:00pm and on Thusday from 9:00am until time of service. Burial will immediately follow the funeral in the Jaynes Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Robert L Adams
Robert “Ridge Runner” Lee Adams age 63 of Flat Gap, Ky passed away October 15, 2018 at his home.
Robert was born July 17, 1955 to James and Pauline Adams in Johnson County, Ky. He survived by his wife Jamie Adams; one daughter Christal (John) Music; two sons James Robert Dunkle (Jim Bob) and Bradley E Adams; mother and father James and Pauline Adams; Two sisters Kathy (Hobert) Blair and Roberta (Eddy Joe) Fairchild; One brother James Michael (Wilma) Adams; five grandchildren Christopher White, Austin White, Emily music, Natalie Music, Brenlynn Music; one sister-in-law Connie Allen; One son-in-law Thomas James Dunkle; A host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Paintsville Funeral Home Wednesday October 17 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Thursday October 18 form 5:00pm to 9:00pm. The Funeral will be Friday October 19 at 11 AM in the chapel of the Paintsville Funeral Home with Burial to follow in the Adams Webb Cemetery in Staffordsville Kentucky.

Jewell Brugh Ramey age 96 of Paintsville, Ky went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2018. She was born on February 11, 1922 to Samuel and Rosie Estep in Sitka, Kentucky. Jewell was a member of the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church for 75 plus years where she was very involved. Jewell was active with the Glean Organization for the past 8 years.
She is survived by three daughters Kay Adkins of Paintsville, Ky and Phyllis (Doug) Horn of Lexington, Ky and Regina Blair of Paintsville, Ky; six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; one special friend and neighbor Barbara Baldridge.
She is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Rosie Estep; her husband Elwood Ramey and first husband Raymond Brugh; one granddaughter Kelly Moore Castle; two sons-in-law Jimmy Adkins and James Blair; six brother and five sisters.
Visitation will be held at the Painstville Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday October 23, 2018 from 10:00am to until time of service at 2:00pm. Burial to follow at the Highlands Memorial Cemetery in Staffordsville, Ky.

Marie Skaggs age 94 of Flat Gap passed away on October 28, 2018 in her home. She was born in Keaton, Ky to Cornelius Hood and Bessie Fyffe Wallin. Marie was a member of the Little Mud Lick Church of God of Staffordsville
In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her loving husband Arvin Skaggs ; five brothers Howard Wallin, Conrad Wallin, Edgar Wallin, Glen Wallin, and Fred Wallin; two sisters Maxie Sparks and America Lester. Survivors include her sisters Ilene Hampton of Staffordsville and Nell Skaggs of Keaton and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday October 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Skaggstown Cemetery at Keaton.
Friends may call on Tuesday October 30, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at 9:00am on Wednesday until time of service at the Paintsville Funeral Home.
