Hubert Pack 92, of Paintsville, Ky, passed away at the Pikeville Medical Center on May 12, 2018 after a brief illness. Born February 4,1926 in Whitehouse, Ky, he was the son of the late Willie and Julia Baldridge Pack. He served in the U.S Navy during WWII with two tours in the Pacific. He worked at Mayo Vocational Technical School in Paintsville from 1949-1988, first as an instructor and later in administration. He was a graduate of both Mayo and Eastern Kentucky University. A member of the Paintsville First United Methodist Church since 1950, he served as Sunday School Superintendent from 1968-1983.
Besides his parents , Hubert was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Neal Pack; two brothers Ernest Pack and Ralph Ulysses Pack; two sisters Goldia Osborne and Mary Jean Cottle.
He is Survived by his wife of 69 years, Victoria Williams Pack; one daugther Pamela Gilliam (Steve) of Pikeville, Ky; one son Steven Pack of Paintsville, Ky; two brothers Clyde Pack (Wilma) of Paintsville, Ky and Joe Pack of North Charleston, SC; five grandchildren Amy Bartley (Chris) of Charlotte, NC, Jacob Stumbo (Devyn) of Lexington, Ky, Ali Pellow (Cory) of Summerville, SC, Chris Pack (Trish) of Painstville, Ky, Taryn Pack of Myrtle Beach SC; four great-grandchildren Jayden Eldridge, Lianna, Thomas and Eva Haasch.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at Paintsville First United Methodist Church from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 16 at 11:00 am with Rev. Bruce Lee officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the Paintsville First United Methodist Church, by contacting Paintsville Funeral Home. All Arrangements are under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
