Burgess Banks age 72 of Hager Hill, Ky passed away on December 4, 2019 at his home. He was born on December 23, 1946 to Bill and Angie Banks in Bonnyman, Ky. Burgess was a Machine Operator and retired from Riblets Products.
He is preceded in death by both parents Bill and Angie Banks; one sister Kathy Ratliff; four brothers Jim Banks, Bill Banks, Denvil Banks and Paul Banks.
He survive by his loving wife of 50 years Karen Bentkowski Banks of Hager hill, KY ; one Daughter Melissa Bourn of Mishawaka Indiana; one brother Ed Banks of Elkhart, Indiana; Mary Banks of Ft Lauderdale Florida, Juanit Collins and Bonnita both of South Carolina; four grandchildren Tonya Yoder, Autumn Bourne, Jorja Bourne and Justin Bourne; Several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on December 7,2019 at 11:00am at the St Michael Catholic Church Paintsville, Ky. All arrangements are under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
Christine Wright age 88 of Red Bush, Kentucky passed away on December 17, 2019. Christine was born on July 3, 1931 to Frank and Murzie Vanhoose Pelphrey of Staffordsville, Kentucky. On October 1, 1955 she married the love of her life James (Jim) Howard Wright. She was a member of Red Bush Enterprise Baptist for 12 years.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents: Frank and Murzie Vanhoose Pelphrey; Husband James Howard (Jim) Wright; one sister Olga Mohler; three brothers Earl Pelphrey, David Paris (Pierce) Pelphrey and Oscar Lowell (Dick) Pelphrey; one grandson Trevor Lawson; one brother in law Wayne Blair.
Christine is survived by one son James Douglas (Rebecca) Wright of Flat Gap, Ky; One Daughter Teresa (Phillip) Lawson of Red Bush, Ky; two brothers Bill (Jesse Lee) Pelphrey of Florence, Ky and Ben (Carol) Pelphrey of Columbus, Ohio; One sister Maxine Blair of Staffordsville, Ky; two grandchildren Morgan (Adam) May and Zachary (Laura) Wright; one great grandchild Bodhi May.
Visitation will be held on Friday December 20, 2019 at the Paintsville Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and Visitation Saturday December 21, 2019 from 9:00am to 9:00pm. Funeral service will be on December 22, 2019 at 1:00pm in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with Visitation from 9:00am until time of service with Bob Williams officiating, Burial to follow at the Johnson County Memorial Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
Loretta Castle Caudill age 81 of Wittenville passed away on Monday December 23, 2019 in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born in Johnson County in 1938 to Edgar Sr and Lorena Daniels Castle. Loretta attended the Sugar Grove Baptist Church at Sitka, Ky.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ochal Caudill, one son Richard Caudill and one daughter Wilma Jean Jenkins; three brothers Johnny Castle, Harry Ronald Castle and Bob Castle; and one sister Lorena Mae Lyons.
Survivors include one son William(Elizabeth) Caudill of Nicholasville; three daughters Darlene Beam of Columbus, Ohio , Rebecca (Rusty) Preston of Paintsville, and Sharon Caudill of Wittensville; three brothers Edgar Jr. (Wilda Mae) Castle of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Arlie (Kay) Castle of Sitka Ky, and Danny (Violet) Castle of Sitka, Ky; daughter in law Judy Caudill of Lexington; sister in law Imajean Castle of River; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and an additional very special great great grandchild, Hadli Lemaster.
Friends may call at the Paintsville Funeral Home on Thursday December 26 from 5:00 until 9:00, on Friday December 27 from 3:00 until 9:00 and on Saturday December 28 from 9:00 until 1:00. Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 28 in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00pm with
Estill Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Sparks Cemetery at Hood.

Sheila “Corky “Adams Alsobrooks age 70 of Nippa, Ky. Passed away at her home on December 28, 2019. Corky was born on December 20, 1949 to Wayne and Viola Cantrell Adams of Johnson County. She was a long-time employee at Wal Mart for almost 17 years. Also worked at Food City for 12 years as a employee.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert “Pete” Alsobrooks Sr. of Nippa, KY ; both parents Wayne and Viola Cantrell Adams; One daughter Lisa Adams Jarrvis; One son Bradly Alsobrooks; One brother Dan Adams.
She is survived by two daugher’s Belinda Alsobrooks ( John Music)of Nippa, KY and Suellen Alsobrooks(Larry Williams) Paintsville, KY; Two son’s Rober G. Alsobrooks Jr of Russellville ,Alabama and Michael King of Russellville, Alabama; Two brother’s Donnie (Sherry) Adams of Flat Gap, KY and Kenneth Adams of Flat Gap, KY; One sister Betty Merle Adams of Flat Gap, KY; Seven grandchildren Andrea, Ethan, Alyssa and Abby of Wittensville, Ky, Sienna Levi of Paintsville, KY and Megan of Russellville, Alabama; Two great grandchildren Kaylee and Brody of Russellville, Alabama.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2020 at then Paintsville Funeral Home from 12:00pm – 9:00pm. Funeral service well be held on Thursday January 9, 2020 at 1:00 pm with Visitation starting at 9:00 am until time of service. Burial to follow at the Rice Cemetery at Nippa, KY. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for contributions to be made toward Funeral Expenses by contacting the Paintsville Funeral Home at 606-789-5125.
