Carol A. Preston (Messner) age 70 of Staffordsville, KY passed away Thursday (10-6-2016) at Paul B. Hall Medical Center. Survived by her husband Joe Preston, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lyndall Messner of Jackson, MI. She was survived by one son, Micheal (Carol) Preston of Hueysville, KY, one daughter, Cindy (Sam) Burke of Staffordsville, KY, one brother Duane (Sue) Messner of Jackson, MI, and one sister-in-law, Polly Hall (Morris) of St. Pete, FL. She was also survived by grandchildren Amanda Hicks, Shawn (Karson) Burke, Tiffany Burke, and Brooke Preston and great-grandchildren, Asher and Riley Burke. She was a member of Fairview Freewill Baptist church and participated in Relay for Life. Visitation will be held Saturday (10-8-2016) from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday (10-9-2016) at 2 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home chapel as officiated by Rev. Donald Caudill and Rev. Joe Harman. Friends may call from 10 a.m. On Saturday before the time of service. Burial to follow at the Johnson County Memorial Cemetery in Staffordsville, KY.
Densil Lee Lester 93, of Denver, Ky died Friday (12/9/16) at the Paul B Hall Regional Medical Center. Born November 8, 1923 to the late John Dewey Lester and Osa Blackburn Lester of Auxier, Ky. Also proceeded in death by one still born daughter. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Thelma Ruth Bayes Lester, one brother-in-law; Charles Bayes of Forest, Oh; three nephews Gregg, Jeffery. And Bryan; two nieces, Tamara and Twila; several great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and a host of family and friends.
Denzil attended Barnetts Creek United Baptist Church as long as he was able. He owned and operated Denver Grocery. He farmed tobacco and raised black angus cattle. After retirement he enjoyed fishing and spent a lot of time fishing with his wife at Gunnersville Lake Alabama.
He proudly served three years in the United States Army.
Densil expressed the desire, that if he could not get better, to go on to be with his Lord and Savior. He prayed often and enjoyed his time talking to the Lord.
We, the family, feel our loss is Heaven's gain. It was his hope that his family and friends would find Christ and come meet him again someday.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 6pm to 9pm at the Paintsville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Sunday (12/11/16) at 11am in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with Kenny Pelphrey and Mitch Spradlin officiating. Burial to follow at the Lester Family Cemetery in Denver, Ky.
Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.

Roberta (Price) Nickerson
Roberta (Price) Nickerson 77, of Hickory, NC. died Saturday (12/24/2016) in Martinsville, VA. Born to the late Mitchell Price and Emma (Stapleton) Price. She is was proceeded in death by her husband; George Nickerson Sr. and one sister; Neeka Penix. She is survived by one son; George Nickerson Jr. (Marnie Owens), one daughter; Paula Huffman, two brothers; Neil Price and John Price, three sisters; Blanche Wheeler, Janet Shearer, and Christine Caudill, four grandchildren; Sarah and Jordan Nickerson, Cody and Caitlin Huffman, several nieces and nephews, along with a host of other family and friends.
Family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and to the Shriners organization.
Graveside services were held on Friday (12/30/16) at 11:00am at the Price Family Cemetery at Oil Springs, Ky with Jason Price officiating.
