Arvin Skaggs, 87, of Flat Gap, Ky., husband of Marie Wallin Skaggs, died November 22, 2008. He was born May 30, 1921 at Barnrock, Ky., to the late Andrew Edward and Ova Kelly Skaggs. Surviving him besides his wife, Marie Skaggs, is his sister, Arlene Skaggs, Flat Gap, Ky.; a niece, Alice Kestner, Staffordsville,; a great-nephew, Cody Kestner, Staffordsville. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Earl Skaggs, 2 infant brothers, Arlie and Freeman Skaggs. He was a retired teacher with the Johnson County School System. Funeral Service at Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel, Paintsville on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. Friends may call Sun. 2-8 p.m., Mon. 9 a.m., Paintsville Funeral Home. Rev. Tobe Wheeler and Rev. Harold Salyer officiating. Burial at Skaggstown Church Cemetery, Flatgap, Kentucky.
